Uniquely Milwaukee

In this evolution of our Community Stories, we find the inspiring, entertaining, illuminating and occasionally heartbreaking, and bring it to you with Uniquely Milwaukee. Join Salam Fatayer, Nate Imig and other Radio Milwaukee storytellers as they help you feel more connected to our community.

Urban Spelunking

Spelunking is the exploration of caves. Urban Spelunking is our Milwaukee history podcast in which Nate Imig and OnMilwaukee’s Bobby Tanzillo explore the historic buildings and legendary landmarks that make up our city.

Cinebuds

They’re two buddies talkin’ about cinema. In our film podcast, Radio Milwaukee’s Dori Zori and Milwaukee Film’s Kristopher Pollard give their hot takes on the Milwaukee film scene, new movies coming to the city, local filmmakers, our historic theaters and more.

This Bites

Milwaukee Magazine dining critic Ann Christenson and Radio Milwaukee foodie Tarik Moody host this local, organic, artisanal, gluten-free, studio-to-ear food podcast about Milwaukee restaurants, bars, food culture, dining events and more.

By Every Measure

"By Every Measure" explores systemic racism in various sectors of Milwaukee, looking closely at how those systems were formed and how they can — and need — to be changed. The series uses data to examine the immense disparities that are systemically woven into the Black experience in Milwaukee, making it one of the worst cities in the nation for its Black residents, by every measure.

Be Seen

Radio Milwaukee has partnered with the Wisconsin LGBTQ History Project on this podcast series documenting the state’s LGBTQ history. Hosted by Nate Imig and Michail Takach, curator for the Wisconsin LGBTQ History Project, the podcast explores significant queer milestones, events or people in Wisconsin's LGBTQ history.

Backspin

So, who exactly recorded Milwaukee’s first hip-hop song? How did Milwaukee create a hip-hop scene? Hip-hop expert and DJ Tyrone Miller (DJ Bizzon) teams up with Justin Barney on a quest to definitively answer those questions. In the six-part podcast, Tyrone and Justin speak with an array of guests who were deeply embedded in Milwaukee’s emerging scene. From Speech to DMC, Doc B to Andy Noble, we piece together a nearly forgotten musical story that’s unique to our city.
