1. Mile of Music bus ride
One of the coolest ways to experience a live performance is while on a bus, riding through a city you have never been to before. In Appleton, you can do that! The Mile of Music bus had different plugged in performances throughout the day and was free to ride, which was one of the coolest things we had experienced at the festival.

2. Soul Low performing at The Bar on the Avenue
Soul Low put on a great show in Appleton, playing music off their newest album, Nosebleeds. They also graced us with a group rendition of the Truffle Shuffle for our Snapchat story. If you missed it, please enjoy the GIF below.
3. Lex Allen covering Prince
Lex Allen owned the stage during the Songwriter’s Salute when he performed “When Doves Cry” by Prince. Before the show, we had the opportunity to sit down with the Milwaukee artist and discuss the festival, his involvement with the hip-hop showcase and find out which 3 albums he would bring if he was stuck on an island. He picked the Spice Girls' Spice, Rihanna’s ANTI, and Amy Winehouse's Back to Black.

4. The Cozzy Corner dining experience
Records on the ceiling, guitars hanging in the windows and a huge menu full of Southern food. The Cozzy Corner was just what we needed after getting caught in the rain. BBQ pulled pork, cornbread, hushpuppies, fried catfish, coleslaw….is your mouth watering yet? Shout out to our waiter, Eugene for being a great human being.
5. The people of Appleton
Quite literally everywhere we went, people were strumming up conversations with us. Inquiring about 88Nine, how old we are, where we are from, etc. Mile of Music was hands down the friendliest music festival we had ever attended.
6. The mile….of music
Yes, the music festival was a highlight in itself. There were tons of emerging artists, performing original music in a place you wouldn’t expect for all of this to go down. It was a chance to get up close and personal with local and nationwide talent, experience a large-scale festival with a small town feel and immerse yourself in a community you might otherwise not visit.
