'Moonfall' forgets to have fun with its gloriously dumb premise

"Moonfall" is the movie that dares to ask the question, “What if the moon… fell?”

It’s a beautifully simple question that could be play out in an interesting way on film. It’s been done before. Just look to 2016’s “Shin Godzilla.” Unfortunately, there is nothing interesting about "Moonfall." This movie is needlessly bogged down by human drama, crammed with every worn out sci-fi cliche you could think of, and its funniest joke is about an added on feature of a Lexus SUV.

This is the kind of movie that could be entertaining as a movie that is so bad it’s good, but even that might be a bit of a stretch. It’s a disaster in itself. But hey, sometimes it’s fun to take shots at a movie that cost over $100 million dollars to make. And take shots we do.

We also give our very different takes on “Nightmare Alley” and knee-jerk reactions to the Oscar nominations.
