South Shore Farmer's Market will reopen June 13

Bay View's popular South Shore's Farmer's Market will reopen on June 13, but like most things right now, it will look quite different from how it used to. On Facebook, organizers posted that the event is still sorting out logistical challenges and safety concerns.

"The market is not going to look like our market has in the past," a representative for the Saturday market tells us. "People will not be allowed to linger. Just come, support your local farmers, and go home again."

Farmers markets are considered essential businesses under Wisconsin's Safer at Home order, which is set to expire May 26.

This weekend two Milwaukee area markets reopened: The Fondy Farmers Market and the West Allis Farmers Market. Both adopted extensive precautions designed to limit customers contact with both the farmers and the produce. Seating areas were removed, and food cannot be consumed on the premises.
