Yesterday we reported that $15 million dollars in Covid-19 Live Music and Entertainment Venue grants has been awarded to 96 venues throughout Wisconsin. But that's not the only money that will be distributed through the state as part of the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
$700,000 from the CARES Act has been allotted to non-profit Milwaukee arts and culture organizations, which can apply for grants of up to $125,000. The amount that each organization receives through the program can not exceed its total losses due to Covid-19.
"Following the County Executive's goals to address racial and health equity in Milwaukee County, groups that are led by, or predominantly serve, minority communities will have funding priority," according to ImagineMKE, which has championed the grants.
Organizations can apply here. The deadline to apply is the end of day on Dec. 11. Funds will be distributed by Dec. 29, 2020.
