Carve out some time this weekend for the Pumpkin Pavilion

Sure, Halloween weekend isn’t for another week. But do you know what Halloween weekend doesn’t have? Seventy-degree weather. So if you want to give your shorts their final outing of the year and remain in the All Hallow’s Eve spirit, the Bay View Neighborhood Association has just the thing.

The Pumpkin Pavilion at Humboldt Park is back. Technically, it's been back for two nights already, with gourd-carving going down Wednesday and Thursday of this week. But the real party lights up tonight at 7 p.m., along with the pumpkins themselves, and goes through Saturday. Here’s the rundown:

Friday, Oct. 21

  • 7 p.m. — Grand lighting
  • 7:15 p.m. — Burgermeister Magic Show
  • 7:30 p.m. — The Exotics spy/surf band
  • 8:15 p.m. — Burgermeister Magic Show
  • Plus fire twirlers, beer and food trucks

Saturday, Oct. 22

  • 3 p.m. — Kids games/activities, pop-up music, “Fear Garden” opens for beverage sales
  • 4:30 p.m. — Costume parade, which can include your pet if you subject your pet to that kind of thing
  • 5:15 p.m. — Burgermeister Magic Show
  • 6:30 p.m. — Chills on the Hill Film: Ghostbusters Afterlife
  • 7 p.m. — Burgermeister Magic Show
  • 7:30 p.m. — The Quilz synthpop/wave music
  • 8 p.m. — Burgermeister Magic Show
  • Plus fire twirlers, beer and food trucks

That’s pretty much all the information you need, but if you’re hungry for more, you can head over to the Bay View Neighborhood Association’s home on the web.
