Each week on This Bites , dining critic Ann Christenson from Milwaukee Magazine and Radio Milwaukee’s resident foodie Tarik Moody dig into the city’s culinary and restaurant culture to help you find new spots, old favorites and the best ingestibles around Milwaukee.
During our Thanksgiving breather, it went and got cold on us. That probably means we’re in it for the long haul now and need to find a few spots that’ll warm us up when we need a break from the chill in the air.
That’s where we start this week’s episode — a roundup of restaurants Ann put together that all give off a cozy comfort vibe, most importantly through the food they serve. We’re talking everything from homemade pasta to traditional Serbian fare. The full list is only in Milwaukee Magazine, but we’ll start you off with some highlights, as well as a few odds and ends from around town:
- Criollo Rotisserie Chicken is joining the rotation at 3rd Street Market Hall and bringing Peruvian-inspired dishes with it.
- ’Tis the season for baked goodness, and Ann has hunted down a handful of places to get seasonal specialties (full article in Milwaukee Magazine).
- Ann took on the mighty task of reviewing the North Avenue Market and came away impressed (full article also in the magazine).
We hope you’re impressed by this episode and that you’ll subscribe, like, review or share wherever you get your podcasts.
