What a surprise it was earlier this year when the sheet metal cladding was temporarily removed at the old Schuster's department store in the Bronzeville neighborhood.
Underneath the layers of sheathing, the original facade of the nearly 130 year old building was found -- beautifully preserved -- by the building's owner, C.H. Coakley & Co.
