For this week's Urban Spelunking, we're exploring the constantly evolving scene of Milwaukee's East Side rock clubs.
And, boy, has it evolved.
OnMilwaukee's Bobby Tanzilo dug up the histories of 13 East Side rock clubs, some gone for decades and others simply under new ownership.
Artists like Cheap Trick, Lou Reed, The Cramps, and Wisconsin's own The Bodeans rocked those stages over the years, and Tanzilo even uncovered rare show posters announcing those gigs.
The article is a follow up to last year's "spelunking" of 13 Downtown Milwaukee rock clubs.
Click the podcast player above the photos to hear our conversation, and check out the rest of the clubs at OnMilwaukee.com.
(And just in case you're not quite so metal -- rock clubs are small(ish) venues that are primarily bars, but offer some element of live music.)
