A recognizable (and huge!) building in downtown Milwaukee will soon be demolished to make way for a new office development along the Milwaukee River.
Most of the former Laacke & Joys complex, 1433 N. Water St., will be replaced by a new five-story office building, designed by Plunkett RaysichArchitects. It will be home to advertising firm Bader Rutter, formerly based in Brookfield, which will move all of its operations to Milwaukee. Laacke & Joys moved out of Downtown Milwaukee a couple of ago, and the buildings have been vacant since.
OnMilwaukee's Bobby Tanzilo went to the site last week for his column, and joined me in studio to talk about the future of the site.
