Milwaukee City Hall host vigil to honor victims in Orlando

Yesterday, Mayor Tom Barrett announced on his Facebook page that there will be a vigil at City Hall to honor the victims of the mass shootings in Orlando. A Facebook event has been created for this evening's vigil. The vigil will be moved into the City Hall rotunda in the case of inclement weather.

The vigil will begin at  7pm at the south end of City Hall (Water & Wells Streets). A short program will begin at 7:30pm with Tom Barrett.

Co-sponsors include Diverse & Resilient, FORGE, Milwaukee LGBT Community Center, Milwaukee Metropolitan Community Church, Milwaukee Pride, UWM LGBT Resource Center with more being added as this story/events develop.

From the Facebook event page:

All Milwaukeeans are invited to join in community to honor the victims of the mass shootings in Orlando. Let us come together and be a force of love and solidarity to demonstrate that we oppose these senseless acts of violence against the LGBTQ community and all communities.

For more information and details, visit the Facebook event page.
