Learn to unicycle for free at Red Arrow Park

Looking for a new hobby this summer? Or a new commute to work? How about a new set of wheels.... or, wheel, rather?

Every Tuesday evening in summer if you swing by Red Arrow Park around 5 pm you're in luck ; Each week a group of enthusiastic unicyclers, known as MKE Uni, show up  to the downtown park with a handful of unicycles and offer free unicycle lessons to whoever wants to swing by,

"Everyone makes lots of jokes about clowns and circus stuff and all of that," laughs Jeff Hanson, a member of MKE Uni and one of the instructors for the free Tuesday evening classes, "but we haven't met anyone yet that hasn't been able to learn how to ride. It takes practice, but anyone can do it."

But what goes into unicycling? Is it as hard as it looks? We stopped by the free classes at Red Arrow Park last week to check it out for ourselves:

Unicycle Lessons at Red Arrow Park are free and open to all ages on Tuesdays from 5 pm until 7 pm. For more information and ways to get involved with Milwaukee's unicycle community you can visit MKE Uni on Facebook
