Milwaukee's massive public art exhibition Sculpture Milwaukee returns to Downtown this summer, with 22 works on display down Wisconsin Avenue from June 7 to Oct. 27. Participating artists in this year's exhibition include New York's Roxy Paine, Atlanta-based Radcliffe Bailey, Berlin's Elmgreen & Dragset, London's Richard Woods and California's John Baldessari, whose " Penguin" piece seems likely to be a crowd favorite.

Once again the exhibit is curated by Marilu Knode, former director of Laumeier Sculpture Park in St. Louis, and former Milwaukee Art Museum Director Russell Bowman. Each of the sculptures will be available for purchase.

"Every piece has a story to tell," Knode said in a statement. "There's John Baldessari, one of the most important American artists of the post-war period, and Beverly Pepper, the first artist to use Cor-Ten steel, who is still actively creating at 96 years young. Looking at the exhibition as a whole, the works use different combinations of abstraction and figuration to express the ideas of the artists."

For a map and complete listing of all the artists, visit Sculpture Milwaukee's website. Sculpture Milwaukee has also created an app that offers viewers a self-guided tour of the exhibition, and will host special events and docent-led tours throughout the summer.

And to enhance the viewing experience, Radio Milwaukee DJs have created a music pairing for the exhibition, pairing each sculpture with a song from a Milwaukee artist. You can stream those songs and find a map of exhibition below.
