Moving to a new country is tough. Nathalie and Laurabel Clement know that first-hand.
But after moving to Milwaukee less than two years ago from Paris, the two friends have learned the ins and outs of Milwaukee and have grown to love their new home.
“The U.S. is very very different from what I was expecting and I learned alot of things. We just want to share with newcomers things about American culture and what to do when you move to Milwaukee.”
Excited to share their European point-of-view, as well as help acclimate newcomers, Nathalie and Laurabel started “French and Friends in Milwaukee,” a network of people, like them, that know first-hand the struggles of moving to a new country and are willing to share what they’ve learned with others.
Using Facebook as their main platform of communication, the group has grown to over 200 members and encourages both newcomers and Milwaukee-natives to join in answering and asking questions ranging from “Where can I buy great European products in Milwaukee?” to “Anything fun going on Friday night?”
“There are so many things we can do and it’s just to really help the community to introduce and help settle in the U.S.”
