The NBA has suspended its season. The decision came after a game between the Utah Jazz and Oklahoma City Thunder was abruptly postponed on Wednesday night after the Jazz announced a player has preliminarily tested positive for COVID-19, CNN reported.

“The NBA is suspending game play following the conclusion of tonight’s schedule of games until further notice,” the NBA wrote in a statement Wednesday night. “The NBA will use this hiatus to determine next steps for moving forward in regard to the coronavirus pandemic.”

The news brings the Milwaukee Bucks’ historic season to a pause. The league-leading team had been scheduled to play seven of their next eight games at home, starting with a match against the Boston Celtics at Fiserv Forum on Thursday night.

“This is a fluid situation so we will have more information as soon as possible for our fans who have tickets to upcoming games,” the Bucks wrote in a statement. “We will continue to provide updates as they become available.”
