This week on “Cinebuds,” I am once again joined by Nicole Peterson — my partner in life and also in this episode — to talk about the newest Blumhouse horror show, “THE BLACK PHONE!”
Set in the glorious ’70s, “The Black Phone” is about a child kidnapper and his latest victim, who is stolen away to a soundproof basement. But then, he begins receiving calls from ghostly voices. Are they there to help or hinder? The film is based on a short story by Joe Hill (aka Stephen King, Jr.) and stars Ethan Hawke, Mason Thames and Jeremy Davies.
In this episode, Nicole and I discuss the film and how I'm ESSENTIALLY best friends with Ethan Hawke now. No biggie. We also talk about what else we've been watching, as well as my confusion over just what Blumhouse is and whether they can be trusted.
