Deer District's popular Christkindlmarket will not return for the second year in a row, the event announced today. Last year the German Christmas market was canceled due to Covid-19 but this year organizers say there wasn't enough vendor interest.
"After months of working together with the City of Milwaukee and the Milwaukee Bucks to raise awareness in this event, we unfortunately did not receive enough vendor interest to allow this event to continue," the organizers wrote on Facebook.
Milwaukee's Christkindlmarket debuted in 2018 and drew some impressive crowds in its first two years.
The organizers noted that there will still be Christkindlmarkets this year in downtown Chicago and Wrigleville starting Nov. 19.
