Trying one of Korea's spiciest instant noodles, King Crab Shack on Brady opens

Korean noodles

Each Friday at 8 am on 88Nine, Milwaukee Magazine’s dining critic, Ann Christenson, and 88Nine foodie Tarik Moody discuss Milwaukee’s culinary and restaurant culture.

On this week’s show, we talked about very spicy Korean noodles and my take on the new King Crab Shack on Brady Street. We also talked about Milwaukee Magazine’s Best of Milwaukee issue and a new brewery called Moody Tongue (no relation).

If you are a chef or a restaurant and have an announcement or an event, please send any information or press release to thisbites@radiomilwaukee.org.
So, the other day I came across a Facebook post about this instant ramen called Samyan Hot Chicken noodles.  It turns out it is one of Korea's spiciest instant noodles.  I decided to do a little research and I discovered the there is a noodle challenge on Youtube, where folks try to eat the noodles without drinking in milk or water.

I ordered some of these noodles from the internet and plan on taking a taste test with Ann in the future.  I also found out they make a version twice as hot.

King Crab Shack

This past Sunday, King Crab Shack on Brady Street held its grand opening.  While the original off of 27th and Howard serves Vietnamese-cajun seafood and traditional Vietnamese cuisine, the Brady Street location just serves Vietnamese-cajun seafood.  The Brady Street location also offers combo buckets, which is more economical than buying ala-cart.  There are three combo buckets to choose from and the prices range from $40 to around $70.
