Traffic Manager and Underwriting Assistant

Job Type: Full-time exempt

General Functions

The Traffic Manager and Underwriting Assistant plays a critical role at Radio Milwaukee, working closely with the programming and underwriting teams. This individual ensures the correct scheduling of programs, promotions, affiliate spots and underwriting while also helping manage trade agreements. They also collaborate with the underwriting team to draft accurate on-air copy and ensure compliance with all client contracts, including spot banks and giveaways.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

This list is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as deemed appropriate.

  • Work with the Sales Team to ensure the correct scheduling of programs, promotions, affiliate spots and underwriting
  • Assist in managing trade agreements
  • Collaborate with the underwriting team in drafting error-free copy that will air daily in a timely manner 
  • Assist Sales Team and ensure compliance with all client contracts including spot banks and giveaways
  • Manage billings and receivables to achieve annual revenue goals

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Experience with Marketron Traffic software
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Coachable and motivated self-starter
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work in a timely manner
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of FCC guidelines and public-radio compliance requirements
  • Appreciation for music, especially the eclectic playlists of Radio Milwaukee’s stations
  • Prior experience in traffic management or underwriting preferred

Our Walker’s Point home is a creative environment that includes a full kitchen, green roof/deck and performance space. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. We are currently operating on a hybrid schedule with a minimum of four days per week in the office.
