Kick off the 2018 water series with a unique exploration of sound and water. Join us for rotating performance sessions from Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra musicians for a musical experience complemented by short “lessons” on how music relates to water in the ecosystem. Move around the Center at your own pace, enjoying beverages, beautiful music and even an instrument petting zoo—all while learning more about the ever elusive, present and underappreciated resource of water.

Fruit Tree Grafting Workshop

For centuries people have been changing fruit trees to suit their needs. You can too! In this class you will graft and take home two semi-dwarf trees of your choice (apple, pear or plum). Root stocks and scion wood provided. Additional materials will be available for a fee. Bring a sharp knife if you have one (there will be some available). Registration required by March 21st.

The 2-mile, accessible walk will begin with a gathering at the Urban Ecology Center discussing safe streets. The walk will lead participants across the Locust Street bridge to Riverwest, continue south, and then cross back over at North Avenue. Both bridges will be going through construction shortly in order to make the streets safer for pedestrians, bicyclist, and drivers.
