Sunday's Sound Travels is a bit different than I've done in the past. Normally I do the selecting, mixing and editing of sets all myself. No problem, I love to do it. Well this week, I caught wind of a nice mix from a cat by the name of DJ OBaH, who has put together a proper mix of internationally minded music and musicians in a tight kink of afro-beat slinkiness. It's called Funk Aid for Africa and is a compilation for a charity project to help raise awareness and funds for African children affected by the AIDS crisis. The album contains funk, soul, and Latin tunes created by DJ OBaH – featuring songs from artists like Ticklah, Ursula Rucker, King Britt, Chico Mann and J Boogie’s Dubtronic Science, you know it's hotter than not. Plus, 100% of the proceeds go to aid the construction of a ‘green’ sports facility at NextAid’s environmental community center in South Africa. Sounds like Sound Travels to me and I want to encourage you to download this mix and support the cause! Funk Aid for Africa track listing: 1. Ocote Soul Sounds – Contra El Sol 2.
