A new app looks to redefine the meaning of social drinking. The name of the app is Untappd and it is like Foursquare for beer lovers. The premise is simple. Untappd allows you share your favorite beer or a new beer with your friends via your smart phone. Not only you tell your friends what beer you are drinking, but you can also leave your opinion on the beer. Think of it as a virtual beer fest.
You can also earn badges for completing certain tasks, similar to Foursquare. The app works with all major smart phones including iPhone, Android, Palm, and Blackberry. You can even sync your checkins and beer selections with Foursquare, Twitter and Facebook.

My only thing is that the folks that created this app are from San Diego. What does San Diego know about beer? I thought San Diego are experts on fancy cocktails. (Just kidding, or am I...)
