"Meet The Need": Day 31 of 50 | Milwaukee's Biggest Potluck Dinner

Listen: On Day 31 of 50 in Meet The Need, we return to St. Ben's Community Meal and one of my favorite people to interview/talk to, Executive Director Dave Schwab. We heard from them in last year's Meet The Need campaign and we return this year for fresh set of perspectives on their vital work:

-While Brother Dave experiences what goes on at St. Ben's everyday, he's always trying to better understand the lives of the folks he serves -- that understanding is something he continually works to share:

-While most people have a basic understanding of what it means to be homeless, there are fine-grained parts of the experience that may not occur to you from contemplation alone -- for example, where do homeless folks get haircuts?

-Brother Dave shares the story of Hector, a regular client of St. Ben's, and how he was able to start getting back to work:

-Throughout his life, Brother Dave has worked to meet needs in a number of different fields. In this piece, he shares why he's been drawn to St. Ben's:

-Their work at St. Ben's relies directly on Milwaukee's communities of faith -- Brother Dave discusses why they've found so much success with that model:

This year, we ask you to adopt one or two organizations that connect with you. Want to get involved with St. Ben's Community Meal? Donate, volunteer, or check out their work yourself. And you can start with their website.
