Kristine Hinrichs, Race Director of the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon, is dedicated to running, to making a difference in the lives of others, and to her volunteers. This race would not be possible without the help of volunteers who do everything from providing moral support to pouring a brewski at the end of the race.
I met with Kristine about two weeks before the actual marathon to talk about what it takes to put this event together, the sheer man and woman power necessary to do so, and her love of running.
The actual race took place Roctober 2nd, initiating in Grafton and terminating at Veteran's Park. The weather was perfect; the runners received gorgeous views of the lake and surrounding flora and fauna, and I was there as well to watch it all.
