An Ode To Barry Llewellyn of the Heptones

With today's technology, news travels fast.  We often find out about events, moments after they happen.  We also find ourselves overwhelmed with information, and we often miss a beat.  Well I missed some big news last week.

Barry Llewellyn, a founding member of the popular Jamaican harmony trio the Heptones, died on Nov. 23 in St. Andrew, Jamaica.  The Heptones are one of reggaes' best success stories.  The trio grew up in the Jamaican yards together, listening to American R&B.  The sounds of groups like the Drifters and the Temptations motivated these three young men to make music.  They , in turn, inspired a whole new generation and genre of music.

Here is a great cover of The Beatles "Yesterday".
