Clock Shadow Building Wins MANDI

The Clock Shadow Building at 2nd and Bruce Streets in Walker's Point is one of a kind, and last month, it won a major local award.

The project was honored with a MANDI, or Milwaukee Award for Neighborhood Development Innovation.  Winning in the State Farm Building Blocks category, the Clock Shadow Building was recognized as a real estate project creating significant community impact in a neighborhood.

The $7 million development uses at least 50 percent reclaimed or recycled material, and inside, it has the latest in energy and water efficiency technology.

From a geothermal heating system, to the nation's first regenerative elevator, the project's goal was to create one of the city's greenest buildings.

Tenants include Clock Shadow Creamery, Purple Door Ice Cream, CORE/El Centro, Aurora Walker’s Point Community Clinic, The Healing Center of Aurora Sinai Medical Center, and a law office.
