'Basura Bash' in Walker Square unites neighbors

About 300 neighbors gathered at a park near 9th and Washington over the weekend to clean up streets in the Walker Square neighborhood.

Residents removed graffiti, picked up trash, planted flowers, and added reflective address stickers that were lacking in some alleyways.

Basura Bash, now in its sixth year, aims to unite members of the community, and it all culminates in a block party.  There residents had the chance to connect with community non-profits and enjoy a meal together.
