The welding lab at Bradley Tech High School will be expanding next year thanks to a major philanthropic gift.
The Bucyrus Foundation last month awarded the Harry and Lynde Bradley Technology and Trade High School a $250,000 grant to upgrade the existing welding facilty and purchase new equipment.
The school will add four new welding bays, and Bucyrus will also contribute funds to operate the welding department through 2016, according to a school spokesperson.
Milwaukee Public Schools offer classes in welding at three other campuses, including Casimir Pulaski High School, the School of Career and Technical Education and Harold S. Vincent High School.
