Stan's 'Share-A-Pair' shoe drive on now

All this month, a local shoe retailer is asking for footwear donations to benefit those living in poverty.

Stan's Fit For Your Feetkicked off its ninth annual shoe drive Monday.  Donations of new or gently used shoes are accepted at its three area stores and its two New Balance stores.

You can drop off shoes here:

  • Stan's Brookfield, 17155 W. Bluemound Rd.
  • Stan's Greenfield, 7405 W. Layton Ave.
  • Stan's Glendale, 505 W. Silver Spring Dr.
  • New Balance Brookfield, 17155 W. Bluemound Road, Suite A.
  • New Balance Greenfield, 7411 W. Layton Ave.

Most of the footwear will be delivered to local homeless shelters in Milwaukee.  The rest will make a trip to Guatemala, personally delivered by Megan Sajdak, Stan's marketing director.

Over the years, Stan's has collected more than 180,000 pairs of shoes for those in need.

“As a locally-owned business, we love running this great program that gives back to people in need in our community,” said Jim Sajdak, owner of Stan’s Fit For Your Feet. “Each year, we are amazed at how it continues to inspire generous Milwaukeeans to donate their unwanted gently used shoes and help those who are less fortunate.”

The shoe drive ends Feb. 28.  Everyone who donates will receive a $10 gift card to use at Stan's.
