Wisconsin Based Non-profit, Supporters of Opera Singers, Hosts 3rd Annual Patricia Crump Vocal Competition to Support Young Opera Singers’ Dreams

Milwaukee, WI — [October 2, 2025] — A local nonprofit dedicated to nurturing young opera talent, Supporters of Opera Singers (SOS), will host the 3rd Annual Patricia Crump Vocal Competition on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 12:30PM at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. The event will spotlight emerging opera singers and provide significant prize money to help them pursue their dreams on the national and international stage.

SOS is an all-volunteer organization with 100% of donations going directly to singers via this competition and additional grant opportunities, as well as to Wisconsin based organizations that promote and produce classical music featuring local artists.

Supporters of Opera Singers started this competition to honor founder Patricia “Pat” Crump. Pat has worked tirelessly in the arts community for over 70 years as a performer, a teacher, a board member, a director, and, most importantly, an advocate for young singers. This competition provides a platform specifically to support young singers with strong Wisconsin ties during the crucial beginnings of their careers.
