Alexa Russo
Wisconsin-grown musician Alexa Russo began making music as a child and quickly discovered that the best way to play piano was to sing along with it. Nowadays, she is frequently humming and strumming, drawing from personal experiences to write songs that capture nebulous feelings. With an acoustic-driven, folk-tingled sound, Alexa and her band blend reflective lyricism with understated feel. She released her debut EP Before You Go last September and is excited to share a second EP in the coming months.
Kent Avenue Carpool
Kent Avenue Carpool formed in 2008 when Sam Beem and Liam Hartnett were in elementary school. Growing up across the street from each other, the pair wrote extremely weird songs which they performed at block parties and school talent shows. After taking a decade-long hiatus, Liam and Sam began writing together again.
Since adding the likes of guitarist, producer, singer-songwriter Josh Trimble and drummer extraordinaire Hugh Maxey, the four have developed an ethereal, indie psych rock sound that stays true to their midwest roots. The band released their debut EP Mind the Gap in 2024, and are set to release their debut album Kaleidoscope in August 2025.
James Norcross
Based in Madison, WI, singer-songwriter and producer James Norcross brings big musical ideas to life from a small college bedroom. Ranging from folk and indie rock to soaring synth pop, Norcross self-produces a wide variety of genres, all while maintaining earnest, raw feelings with his introspective lyrics. In November of 2024, he released "Advanced Placement", an EP he made for a high school English class final project, and since then has released two more singles, "Start It Over" and "Crawling Back”.
Claire Martine
Claire Martine grew up in Milwaukee. They started playing violin at eight years old, picked up guitar as a hobby in college in NYC, and now writes original alternative music. Her song “Gossip Baby” has had radio play on 88Nine Radio Milwaukee, and she has performed at Summerfest. They love to combine genres in their songwriting—they are inspired by y2k pop-rock and 90s era riot girl, as well as bossa nova and jazz standards.
