Exhibition: Beth Lipman: The Map is Not the Territory

Exhibition: Beth Lipman: The Map is Not the Territory

The exhibition, BETH LIPMAN: THE MAP IS NOT THE TERRITORY, features two new and never-before-seen glass sculptures by the artist: "Doppelgänger" and "The Map is Not the Territory." These two works examine the influence and incorporation of AI in contemporary art and processes, and how these tools, though instantaneous, create fractured information that appears concise but is often misinformed or misaligned to create a distorted reality.

This exhibition is on view from June 12th - July 25th, 2026; open hours at One-Off Exhibitions are on Fridays from 11am-4pm, or by appointment.

BETH LIPMAN has exhibited her work internationally at such institutions as the Ringling Museum of Art (FL), ICA/MECA (ME), RISD Museum (RI), Milwaukee Art Museum (WI), Gustavsbergs Konsthall(Sweden) and the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum (DC). Her work has been acquired by numerous museums including the North Carolina Museum of Art, Brooklyn Museum of Art (NY), Kemper Museum for Contemporary Art (MO), Smithsonian American Art Museum (DC), Jewish Museum (NY), Norton Museum of Art, (FL), and the Corning Museum of Glass (NY). ReGift, a site specific installation investigating the life of Florence Scott Libbey, is on view at the Toledo Museum of Art.
