Free Art Exhibit: John Suess, Wisconsin Landscapes & Florals

Free Art Exhibit: John Suess, Wisconsin Landscapes & Florals

Local artist and retired librarian John Suess returns to the Wauwatosa Public Library with a new exhibition beginning May 1. This marks the third time Suess’ work has been featured at the library, with his most recent show taking place in January 2025.

The exhibition features more than 25 original paintings, including Wisconsin landscapes, floral works, and several new pieces completed in 2026. Suess is known for capturing the natural beauty of Wisconsin through a style that blends impressionism, tonalism, color field influences, and realism, using color, texture, and light to bring each scene to life.

The exhibit is free and open to the public during regular Wauwatosa Public Library hours. In appreciation of community support, most works will be available for purchase at under $200 during the exhibition.

The Wauwatosa Public Library is located at 7635 W. North Ave., Wauwatosa, WI. Visitors are invited to view the collection throughout the duration of the show during normal library hours.
