How to Eliminate Poverty in Milwaukee
Join Tim John and David Riemer as they explore solutions to poverty in Milwaukee.
Author and philanthropist, Tim John will explain his journey to battle poverty locally and globally — from Peru, Guatemala, Ghana, Milwaukee’s Central City, and Indian reservations.
Tim has a longstanding commitment to civic engagement and poverty-related causes. As the great-grandson of Frederick Miller and author of The Miller Beer Barons (2005) and From Source to City: Voyaging the Milwaukee River, Menomonee River, and Kinnickinnic River (2025), Tim brings a unique combination of legacy, community involvement, and public-facing work that tackles difficult challenges like poverty. David Riemer will present a plan to dramatically reduce poverty nationally and greatly increase the size of the Middle Class. A recent Urban Institute report explains the plan and its unprecedented impacts.
