J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue (JRAAR) will be visiting the Waukesha Petco to showcase some of the interesting and wonderful pets that we currently have for adoption at the rescue. J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue is Wisconsin’s largest exotic pet rescue. Come by our table, and learn more about what we do.

JRAAR is dedicated to the rehabilitation, education, and rehoming of a wide variety of animals, including reptiles, amphibians, birds, and small mammals. Established in February 2020, to date the rescue has successfully placed over 7,000 animals into loving homes.

As Wisconsin’s #1 turtle rescue and the only exotic animal rescue licensed to work with birds and mammals, JRAAR is committed to promoting responsible pet ownership and environmental stewardship through community outreach, educational events, and partnerships.

Our mission is to provide sanctuary and care for surrendered, abandoned, and injured animals while educating the public on the importance of proper care and the environmental impact of exotic pets. We offer a range of programs, including adoption events, exotic pet surrender events, and educational programming for all ages. Our dedicated team of volunteers, employees, and interns work tirelessly to ensure every animal receives the care they need to thrive.
