Kayak the Root River with What's up Racine on Thursday, June 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Root River Environmental Education Community Center, 1301 W 6th St, Racine.

As the sun sets, explore the beautiful river that winds through Racine and learn about the health of this important natural resource. Come solo or bring a friend. Gather at the REC launch area shortly before 6 p.m. and dress for the occasion!

Please bring an ID for the kayak rental. A $10 payment is accepted as cash or card during the event. Rain date: Thursday, June 28.

The Root River Environmental Education Community Center (REC) was founded in 2008 as a partnership between the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and the City of Racine. In addition to offering kayak and canoe rentals during the summer season, the REC also hosts environmental education workshops for families, private events, and school field trips.
