EmpowerHer Legacy Presents the Legacy & Basketball Fundraiser Tournament

20 parents and 20 students will compete for 5 Spots and the love of their legacy

Waukesha, WI —EmpowerHer Legacy is hosting a "Legacy & Basketball" charity tournament where the stakes are deeply personal. In a unique fundraising event, four teams of determined parents will face off against four teams of ambitious high school students in a basketball competition. The prize is more than just a win; the victorious student teams will secure five spots on an all-expenses-paid college tour to Illinois.

The event will take place at Waukesha Schuetze Recreation Center. This tournament is designed to be a fun, family-friendly event that strengthens community bonds while supporting a compelling charitable cause. The central question of the day is: who has more heart and determination—a parent driven by purpose or a student playing for their path?

“This is more than just a basketball game; it’s a contest of heart, love, and legacy," says EmpowerHer Legacy founder, Tamara Washington. "We wanted to create an event that not only raises crucial funds but also tells a powerful story about ambition and the drive to build a better future. It’s about putting women and youth in a position to thrive, which is the core of our mission. We invite the entire community to witness this incredible showdown and support these students' educational dreams.”

The event will be filled with activities for all ages, including:

The main 8-team basketball tournament.
Engaging halftime fun and entertainment.
A 50/50 raffle to raise funds.
A College-Tour-Supplies Drive, where attendees who donate items like notebooks, pens, and snacks will receive additional raffle tickets.
Concessions, beverages, and EmpowerHer Legacy merchandise will be available for purchase.

Proceeds from the event will directly fund the college tour for the five winning high school students.
