Local Author Talk: Dawn Helmrich
Dawn will read from her book The Blue Flower Curtain. The book follows the journey of Dawn, a 21-year-old woman, newly married, who is brutally attacked on her way to a party. What was 45 minutes of torture turns into years of turmoil, fear and mental health issues, and also a lifetime of dedication, determination, and advocacy for other survivors of sexual assault. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.
