Sleeping Trees + Shoulderbird + The Hallelujah Ward
Shoulderbird
The Chicago Reader caught a Shoulderbird show and responded: "the mellow, jazz-tinged phrasing of guitarist and vocalist Meredith Nesbitt made an immediate impression—as did her crackerjack band....They glisten with warm, spacious reverb and more than a touch of soulful Americana."
Shoulderbird blends Americana and indie rock into surprising, lyric-driven songs, interlaced with and tied together by improvisation and landscapes of sound. They sing about the everyday, doing dishes, black tshirts, waiting, as well as the large arc of dreaming, loss, putting on a good face. Their debut EP, Parade, was released November 2022. Following the release of the single Merry Christmas, Darling in 2024, Shoulderbird is set to release their first full album Neighbors on June 15, 2025. Shoulderbird has toured the Midwest and Canada and is gearing up for an East Coast album release tour. Drawing from extensive experience as a bass player in touring acts such as Hannah Frances, Minor Moon, Hemlock, Toddo, Jackie Hayes, Astrachan, etc, Shoulderbird is ready to hit the road and share this next album.
The Hallelujah Ward
The Hallelujah Ward are made up of three stalwart Milwaukee modern-indie-alternative-art-pop-rock juggernauts:
Mark Waldoch: can sing until his own heart explodes, tunes his guitar and probably tuned yours. Does it matter ? Does he bother ? Yes, and yes he does.
Dan Didier: Plays drums extremely well and has done so for some time and for a good time. Dm for resume …… punks.
Paul Hancock : Plays Bass and can fix almost anything physical and metaphysical. “ It’s a freaky dream man , it’s all part of a funky freaky dream.“
