Happy Birthday Roy Harper!
The Mancunian singer/songwriter turned 74 today. While he’s had a prolific career on his own, his most famous work was singing the lead vocal on Pink Floyd’s "Have a Cigar.”
Roger Waters had blown out his voice while singing “Shine On You Crazy Diamond” and Harper happened to be at Abbey Road in another studio making his own recording. When David Gilmour declined to sing the song, Harper stepped in. We get today’s cover from San Francisco’s Primus.
