Milwaukee’s concert scene has a lot going on, so we look at the shows coming up to find the ones you’ll look back on and be glad you went. Then we add them to our weekly Milwaukee Concert Picks.
One of the greatest things about Milwaukee is its “City of Festivals” crown. It really makes the city shine in the summer, bringing people near and far together to enjoy music and celebrate. Unfortunately, winter often puts a damper on things, but events like Mitten Fest capably carry some of those vibes (albeit in an environment several degrees cooler).
The 10th annual Burnhearts’ Mitten Fest (outside of the beloved bar at the Bay View intersection of Potter and Logan) will roll this Saturday, Feb. 4, from noon – 8 p.m. And if our collective luck holds out, it’ll be “decent” winter weather (not below zero). But even if it does fix to get chilly, dressing warmly and partaking in plenty of warm beverages and local eats from Mitten Fest vendors will help keep you toasty.
Throughout the day, a stellar local lineup will keep you entertained, including the talented DJ Christreater, the soulful and fun sounds of the Steph Lippert Project, heavy art-rockers Credentials, smooth rapper Genesis Renji, and electro-punk maestros Convert. Plus, if you don’t want to go home but you can’t stay there, head to the official “Mitten Fest After Party” at Cactus Club.
As always, Mitten Fest strives to boost support of the work of the Hunger Task Force, which will accept cash or credit-card donations, on site.
