The Weeknd has canceled his Milwaukee show

The Weeknd has canceled his upcoming arena tour, including his January 2022 date at Milwaukee's Fiserv Forum.

The reason, he says, is that he'd rather play stadiums than arenas. "Due to constraints of arenas and the demand for more shows I want to do something bigger and special for you which requires stadiums," the pop star wrote on Instagram.

Tickets will be refunded automatically, and The Weeknd writes that "all ticket holders will be given priority to buy tickets for the stadium shows when they go on sale."

It remains to be seen whether a Milwaukee stop will be included when those new stadium dates are announced, though. New dates for the tour are still forthcoming.

The Weeknd's star has continued to rise this year, following a gig headlining the Super Bowl halftime show in February. His most recent album "After Hours" came out in 2020.
