One of the bands responsible for popularizing the stomp-and-shout style of folk revival, The Lumineers are preparing for a run of big shows in conjunction with their upcoming third album, "III." The Denver band's upcoming tour will take them to arenas and amphitheaters around America and Europe, as well as festivals like Bonnaroo and Woodstock 2019 ( if there is a Woodstock 2019, at least). But first the band will play an intimate theater show in Milwaukee.
The Lumineers will play a warm-up concert for their tour at the Pabst Theater on Thursday, June 13, the venue announced today, and a sellout seems likely. The venue has limited ticket purchases to four per household, and states on its website that "all tickets are will call only, non-transferable, and only available on the day of the show after 6 p.m. All ticket holders must arrive together and the ID and credit card must match the info used for purchase. No large bags, weapons, iPads, cameras, or selfie sticks allowed."
In addition to the anti-scalping measures, phones and other recording devices will be prohibited at the show. "Upon arrival at the venue, all phones and smart devices will be secured in Yondr cases," the venue states. "Guests maintain possession of their phones and can access their phones at a designated Phone Use Area. Anyone seen using a cellphone will be escorted out of the venue."
Reserved-seat tickets for the concert are $50 and go on sale Thursday, June 6, at 10 a.m.
