One of the largest music festivals in the world is back for the 2021 season and after being canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, DJs are eager to get back in the mix. I understand first-hand how local DJs rarely get to play an event of this scale, so 88Nine and Summerfest are making an attempt to change that narrative. For the second time at the Johnson Control World Stage and other stages, I've been tasked with helping curate a lineup featuring Milwaukee talent from all walks of life and musical styles.
This year, DJs on the Johnson Controls World Sound Stage will close out each evening with their blends of hip-hop, house, throwbacks and more following the stages' headlining live performer at 9:30 pm. You will also see that we've sprinkled talent from our city all over the grounds, playing the breaks and direct opening for acts like T-Pain, Flo Rida, Lunay, Run the Jewels,and more.
