They’ve dramatically reduced the waste there and have had all of these environmentally-friendly education things and a pedal-powered stage — it was really interesting. -Piet Levy, Journal Sentinel music writer
We say “So long!” to festival season this weekend — Rock the Green and Bay View Bash are closing out this summer’s musical celebrations.
Rock the Green (Saturday, Sept. 17) started in 2011 and featured names like the Fray, Ben Folds and Imagine Dragons. After a large sponsor fell through, it was unable to return for a couple of years.
This year, Rock the Green returns with power, featuring national and local artists — Lord Huron, Robert DeLong, Best Coast, Thao & The Get Down Stay Down, Trapper Schoepp, New Age Narcissism, Great Lake Drifters, Foreign Goods, Eagle Trace and many more.
Bay View Bash (also Saturday, Sept. 17) is a community fest in its 12th year. It’s organized by the Bay View Community Fund Inc., a nonprofit group which uses the proceeds to benefit the community.
Click that podcast for details about both fests, plus a little bit about some of the artists doing shows.
