Growth of the Spanish language music scene, homecoming of artists

Milwaukee music is coming home. We have a bunch of local artists coming back to do some shows. The Spanish music scene in Milwaukee has grown tremendously, and it's still growing. Read below for more.

It’s music for a good cause, but it’s also just good music. Period. -- Piet Levy, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

Gloria Trevi, otherwise known as "the Mexican Madonna" will be doing a show here tomorrow at the Riverside Theater. The Lampedusa: Concert for Refugees is making its way to Milwaukee on Wednesday, October 12. All proceeds benefit the Jesuit Refugee Service's Global Education Initiative. Robert Plant has just been added to that lineup.

Skylar Grey is a Wisconsin artist who wrote the vocals to Eminem's "Love the Way You Lie." She is in high demand in the hip-hop world, with features on tracks for Nicki Minaj, Dr. Dre, and T.I. She will be doing a show this Saturday at the Rave.

As for some more Wisco-native artists, Trapper Schoepp is at Turner Hall Ballroom tonight with The Record Company. Click that podcast above for the details.
