Each Thursday morning on Radio Milwaukee we — the Journal Sentinel’s Piet Levy and 88Nine’s Jordan Lee — talk about the music coming into and the music coming out of Milwaukee on Tap’d In.
A living legend will be in Milwaukee this Saturday. Bob Dylan will play the Eagles Ballroom. But is that cause for excitement? We discuss the state of Dylan’s live show on this week’s episode. Stream it below.
You really never know what you’re going to get when you see Dylan. We’ve both seen him before, and his concerts are a mixed bag. We share our experiences of seeing him.
“If you’re a Bob Dylan fan, you just have to go with it,” Piet says. “He’s been defying expectations his whole career.”
If nothing else, you’ve got to respect his longevity: Decade after decade, Dylan has reinvented what he does. We’ve seen legacy performers before where we’ve thought, “they need to hang it up.” We’ve never thought that about Bob Dylan.
