Irish Family Day

A “Passport to Ireland” theme will transform all three levels of the CelticMKE Center into terminals, transporting guests to Irish destinations. Families will travel to eight different counties of Ireland and Northern Ireland with a provided passport in hand. Each county will feature an activity that celebrates Irish culture, history and traditions.
From arts and crafts to storytelling and more, families are also sure to learn something along the way. Travelers will get their passports stamped at each station, earning a prize at the end of their journey. Irish dancers will perform on the main terminal stage, and live Irish music will fill the lower terminal, where the Celtic Café will be serving lunch, beverages, and snacks.

Girls & STEM Day

March to the Zoo on this special day when all guests are admitted FREE! (Parking and regular attraction fees still apply.) Meet Japanese macaque baby Mai — now almost one year old but still petite. Her name is pronounced “May” and means “brightness” or “dance” in Japanese. Mai is quite active and lively to watch, along with the other members of her troop.

The UWM Percussion Area hosts two evenings of World Percussion Night in the beautiful Jan Serr Studio, featuring special guest Samba da Vida MKE alongside the UWM Steel PANthers Steel Band and other student ensembles. Audiences will love the upbeat, exciting energy of Brazilian Samba and African and Puerto Rican drumming, in addition to traditional and arranged music for Trinidadian steel pans performed by UWM students and faculty and vibrant community ensembles.
