Every morning throughout Summerfest 2026, we’ll deliver a guide that covers the day’s entertainment and how you can get in the gate free of charge. This is where you’ll find info about the AmFam Amp headliners, eclectic picks from our knowledgeable staff and the music lineup for the day (see the full 2026 Summerfest lineup here).
Today at the AmFam Amp
Ed Sheeran w/Myles Smith, Aaron Rowe, 7:30 p.m.
Sheeran has been packing them in for a while now, including a previous visit to Milwaukee that brought him to the Brewers home field in 2018. His current “Loop Tour” in support of Play — the album he released last September — is mostly taking place in stadiums around North America, which makes the Summerfest amphitheater date a rare opportunity to see him in a different setting.
Radio Milwaukee staff pick #1
Kim Gordon @ Briggs & Stratton Big Backyard, 10 p.m.
Despite being born just as the straight-laced 1950s were warming up, Gordon has proven to be a cutting-edge tastemaker decade after decade. Now, well into her 70s, she’s still comfortably settling into sounds that are anything but, including world-weary yet witty deadpan rap vocals over metallic musical atmospheres and booming beats.
Most iconically known for her time in the angularly smart and distorted rock band Sonic Youth (predominantly on bass and vocals), Gordon’s still journeying further into that icon status as a solo artist. On her most recent album, PLAY ME, brisk motorik qualities drive the songs forward with an even more focused appeal, while an equally focused and accessible message speaks to, as the New York Times put it, “both the banality and volatility of our world.”

Radio Milwaukee staff pick #2
The Mountain Goats @ Aurora Pavilion, 7 p.m.
Some moments last forever, but some flare out with love love love. And you just gotta love love love The Mountain Goats. Seeing them feels less like a standard concert and more like a deeply cathartic community gathering. From “The Mess Inside” to “Old College Try,” the band brings raw storytelling-heavy energy to all of their songs. With a new album coming up in August, too, it’s the perfect time for them to come back to Summerfest. Just go enjoy a band singing about basically everything and anything, and you’ll find yourself thinking, “How much better, how much better can my life get?”

Radio Milwaukee staff pick #3
Subtronics @ Generac Power Stage, 9:30 p.m.
One of the things I love most about hosting In the Mix is discovering artists who are pushing electronic music forward. Right now, few are doing that at the level of Subtronics. After absolutely killing it at Coachella earlier this year and continuing to rise as one of the biggest names in EDM, it's so cool to see Jesse Kardon bringing his project (and some serious energy) to Summerfest. Put on his latest track, and start getting ready for the melodic craziness he’ll bring to the stage tonight.
