Every morning throughout Summerfest 2026, we’ll deliver a guide that covers the day’s entertainment and how you can get in the gate free of charge. This is where you’ll find info about the AmFam Amp headliners, eclectic picks from our knowledgeable staff and the music lineup for the day (see the full 2026 Summerfest lineup here).

Today at the AmFam Amp + Radio Milwaukee staff pick #1

Post Malone w/Carter Faith, 7 p.m.

Post Malone is finally hitting the Summerfest stage, and I cannot lie — it’s going to be wild watching the ultimate musical shapeshifter in action.

As a day-one fan, I remember bumping "White Iverson" back in 2015, when he first burst onto the scene. Back then, he was fully riding a wave built on Black music, cornrows and gold teeth, leaning hard into the heavy trap beats with the traditional bars, confidence and melodies of real hip-hop.

Let’s be real: Black music has always been the blueprint for what’s cool, constantly evolving and rewriting the rules of pop culture. Post Malone’s whole career is a masterclass in how that influence works. He took those hip-hop roots and, instead of staying in one lane, used them to jump into whatever genre he felt like conquering next.

Shifting from trap to acoustic folk to stadium rock to full-blown country? It's wild and, honestly, rather impressive. You could make a case about privilege or the fickle nature of fans, but at the end of the day it’s about the music — and this music is DOPE! Post Malone is proof that the DNA of Black music is so deeply ingrained in the world, you can use its foundations of rhythm to become a hip-hop, pop, folk AND country superstar.

Seeing him bring that whole chaotic, unpredictable catalog to Summerfest might just be what the world needs … Bangers! Like the man says in my personal favorite track, “It’s a moment, when I show up, Got ‘em sayin’ ‘WOW!’”

Radio Milwaukee staff pick #2

Jean Dawson @ Generac Power Stage, 5:30 p.m.

Jean Dawson is the kind of artist who makes you expect the unexpected. One moment he’s delivering a slow, vulnerable song about love, life and struggle; the next he’s walking you through an indie-punk anthem inspired by his parents’ complicated love story. Nothing displays his duality like my two favorite tracks, “Pirate Radio” and “Darling.” The beauty of Dawson’s music is that he never lets you get too comfortable with who you think he is.

Every conversation I’ve had with him comes back to one belief: He’ll never stop growing. He sees himself as a living and breathing work of art, constantly evolving with time, place and experience. That commitment to reinvention is what makes every performance feel different.

Radio Milwaukee staff pick #3

Hank Azaria & The EZ Street Band @ Uline Warehouse, 5:30 p.m.

Nobody has ever been able to recommend seeing Bruce Springsteen at Summerfest because The Boss has never played it. To the best of my knowledge, for a similar reason, nobody has been able to recommend seeing a cast member of The Simpsons at Summerfest. Today, we check both of those boxes (sort of).

Hank Azaria is best known for voicing Chief Wiggum, Disco Stu and more than 100 other characters during The Simpsons’ astounding run. But for a little more than two years, he’s been using those vocal chops to pay tribute to Springsteen via this band that — as this video shows — is 90% legit musical talent and 10% cosplay.

Cover bands are as much of the fabric of Summerfest as fried cheese and the Skyglider. This one takes it up a couple notches and might be as close as we get to Springsteen ever playing the Big Gig. Go stand on a picnic table and sing along.
